NEW MEXICO (AP) -- ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Several large test explosions are planned for today at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque. Base officials say 500 pounds of explosives will be detonated at noon, with tests of 300 pounds and 200 pounds following at 45 minute intervals. Residents who live near the base can expect to hear the explosions.
SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - The New Mexico Game and Fish Department is looking for a few good men and women to become conservation officers. Applicants should have a bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college, must pass a physical fitness test and successfully complete a five-month training course at the state Law Enforcement Academy.

The commission also is to hear an update on rules governing the allocation of antelope hunting permits to private landowners in New Mexico.
