Here is the latest North Dakota news from The Associated Press Bismarck, N.D. (AP) State lawmakers are supporting a $6.8 million tax reduction for North Dakota's charitable gambling industry. The bill now heads to the governor. The proposal gets rid of several taxes on charitable gambling operations. Instead, charities will pay a tax on wagers, ranging from one percent to 2.5 percent.

Grand Forks, N.D. (AP) The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited a Grand Forks wind blade manufacturer for eleven violations. The agency proposes more than $136,000 in penalties against LM Wind Power Blades for violations involving workers' exposure to unsafe conditions during an inspection that began in October 2010.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) House and Senate negotiators have settled on a $46 million budget for the North Dakota Highway Patrol over two years. The deal adds two new troopers to enforce truck weight regulations. The budget now heads to the full House and Senate for approval.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) The head of North Dakota's Democratic Party is stepping down and taking a director's job with the Democratic Party in Delaware. Joe Aronson has held the North Dakota party director job since August 2009. He says he'll stay in the position until late May.
